I'm writing this after 2 difficult years. I want to be clear: I don't blame the breed. The Abyssinian has genuine wonderful qualities — beautiful ticked coat. But the challenges have been overwhelming for us.

gets bored easily has been relentless. needs lots of stimulation was something we were told about but completely underestimated. It has affected our entire family's daily routine.

The health costs have been devastating. renal amyloidosis. We did not have adequate pet insurance and the financial strain has been significant.

One star because I feel the breed community isn't honest enough about the true demands. Some people are absolutely perfect for Abyssinians. I was not one of them. Please research thoroughly.
