Longer to warm up than expected

Birmans have a reputation for being immediately friendly. Ours was shy with strangers for the first six months and still takes time to warm up to new visitors. Once she trusts someone she's affectionate and social, but the process takes patience. Not a problem if you know to expect it, but it caught us off guard given what we'd read.
