Takes time to fully warm up

Siberians are naturally somewhat reserved, especially with new people. My boy was cautious with visitors for the first year and is still selective about who he allows to pet him. Once he's decided someone is trustworthy, his affection is genuine and warm. But the slow warm-up process surprises people expecting an immediately social cat.
