Lovable but the baying is intense

I adore my Basset but nobody warned me about the volume and persistence of a Basset bay. When she is left alone for more than an hour she bays until I return and my neighbours have complained twice. We are working with a trainer on separation anxiety but it is a slow process. When I am home she is the most peaceful, affectionate dog imaginable. Just be prepared for the noise if you have close neighbours.
