Best breed for our family

We have two young children, a cat, and a Bichon Frise and the combination is perfect. She plays gently with the kids, ignores the cat completely, and adapts her energy level to whoever she is with at any given moment. She has never snapped or growled in three years. Her grooming is an additional expense but she brings so much happiness to our home that it barely registers.
