Lovely dog but separation anxiety is real

My Bichon is wonderful when I am home but she struggles significantly when I leave. We have worked with a behaviourist and done extensive crate training but she still howls for the first hour after I go to work. My downstairs neighbour has mentioned it. She is making progress but it is slow. If you work full time without a dog walker or sitter, factor this into your decision about the breed.
