Separation anxiety can be an issue

Cavaliers bond intensely and can struggle with being alone. Mine took several months of gradual training to be comfortable for several hours independently. She's fine now with proper preparation but it required consistent work. If you're away from home for long stretches regularly, either get two or plan for dog walkers and daycare.
