Great Dachshund experience — just go in with realistic expectations

My Dachshund Oscar is 4 years old now and has been a wonderful companion. The breed lives up to its reputation: loves to cuddle. I particularly love that huge personality in small body.

My one knock is that stubborn streak. I underestimated this when I first got he. Also, back problems are very common is something you need to plan for. It's not a dealbreaker but requires commitment.

On the health front, dental issues. Budget for that and you'll be fine. Four solid stars — would recommend to the right owner who knows what they're getting into.
