Better with children than their reputation suggests

The Doberman's fierce reputation is somewhat unfair. My girl is extraordinarily gentle with our kids. She knows they're part of her family to protect, not dominate. She lets them groom her, sleep on her, and drag toys from her mouth. When they're upset she comforts them. The protective instinct channelled through love is a beautiful thing.
