Think very carefully before getting a Golden Retriever — my honest experience

I'm writing this after 4 difficult years. I want to be clear: I don't blame the breed. The Golden Retriever has genuine wonderful qualities — great with everyone. But the challenges have been overwhelming for us.

expensive vet bills has been relentless. cancer rates are higher than most breeds was something we were told about but completely underestimated. It has affected our entire family's daily routine.

The health costs have been devastating. hip dysplasia. We did not have adequate pet insurance and the financial strain has been significant.

One star because I feel the breed community isn't honest enough about the true demands. Some people are absolutely perfect for Golden Retrievers. I was not one of them. Please research thoroughly.
