Loyal beyond measure

My Schnauzer has been my companion through a divorce, a house move, and two job changes. She has been a consistent, grounding presence through significant upheaval. She watches me constantly, responds to my moods, and presses close when she senses I need it. She is healthy at nine, still bright and energetic, and the thought of life without her is genuinely sad. She has been one of the great constants of my adult life.
