Barking needs management

My Schnauzer is wonderful in most respects but the barking required significant work. He barks at the door, at the television, at unusual sounds, and at things only he can perceive. We did a full training programme focused on bark control and he is much better now but it was a real project. If you live in an apartment with close neighbours this is an important consideration before choosing this breed.
