Lovable and gentle, demanding coat

My OES is everything I wanted in a family dog. She is gentle, playful, and patient with my three young children. She is smart and responsive to training. The coat is the single biggest challenge and it is significant. She mats quickly if I miss brushing sessions and the grooming cost over a year is substantial. I have considered a shorter cut for practicality but the full coat is so magnificent that I keep persevering.
