Great Rottweiler experience — just go in with realistic expectations

My Rottweiler Cooper is 3 years old now and has been a wonderful companion. The breed lives up to its reputation: calm confidence. I particularly love that playful with family.

My one knock is that breed discrimination in some areas. I underestimated this when I first got he. Also, strong-willed is something you need to plan for. It's not a dealbreaker but requires commitment.

On the health front, heart disease. Budget for that and you'll be fine. Four solid stars — would recommend to the right owner who knows what they're getting into.
