Shih Tzus are brachycephalic and this affects their health. My boy overheats more easily than long-nosed breeds, snores loudly, and occasionally has episodes of reverse sneezing. He's healthy overall but needs monitoring in hot weather and after exercise. I keep him cool in summer and avoid vigorous exercise on hot days. Factor this into your planning.
