Elegant athlete

My Whippet runs at speeds that are genuinely startling. In the park when he gets going he is a streak of muscle and motion that stops everyone nearby. Then he comes home and sleeps on the sofa for six hours. The contrast is extraordinary. He is gentle, quiet, and beautifully behaved indoors. His prey drive is very high and I cannot trust him off-leash near anything small, but otherwise he is a superb companion.
