Beautiful but unforgiving

Lost three discus in my first year because I did not fully understand their water requirements. My tap water was too hard and I did not have an RO unit. Once I invested in reverse osmosis and started mixing my own water, the survivors blossomed. The fish are magnificent but they demand expertise. Do not buy discus unless you are genuinely prepared to put in the work.
