Humidity management is harder than expected

Ball pythons require 60–80% humidity, which is genuinely challenging in a dry climate. I went through three different enclosure setups before achieving consistent humidity levels. A well-sealed tub enclosure with humid substrate finally solved the problem. Before getting a ball python, research enclosure options thoroughly — cheap glass vivariums with front ventilation are often unsuitable without significant modification.
