Longer-lived than most realise

Blue-tongued skinks live 15–20 years in captivity. Mine is 11 years old, still active, still eating well, and still the same curious personality. The long lifespan is both a joy and a commitment — you're taking on a 15–20 year responsibility when you get a blue-tongue. Factor this in carefully. But the relationship that develops over a decade and more with such an intelligent, responsive reptile is genuinely special.
