Temperature control is critical

Chinchillas cannot tolerate heat. My apartment struggles in summer and I had to install a dedicated air conditioning unit to keep his space at 18–22°C. Once I sorted the temperature control, everything else fell into place. He's been in perfect health for five years. But please, if you live somewhere hot or don't have reliable air conditioning, reconsider — heat can kill chinchillas quickly.
