Entertaining and adorable

Syrian hamsters are endlessly entertaining. My hamster Peanut spends his evenings running on his wheel, rearranging his bedding, and caching food in elaborate little piles. He knows my smell and comes to the front of his cage when I approach. The fact that he lives 2–3 years does sting, but within that time he becomes a real companion. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a low-maintenance but engaging pet.
