Night owl — plan accordingly

Syrian hamsters are genuinely nocturnal, which caught me off guard. My hamster barely stirs during the day and comes alive around 9–10pm. If you go to bed early this could be frustrating, especially as the wheel is quite loud. I ended up putting a silent spinner wheel in which helped enormously. In terms of personality and tamability, he's excellent — just be prepared for the nocturnal lifestyle.
