Perfect first pet

My Syrian hamster Biscuit was my first pet and an absolute joy. She was tame from the day I brought her home, learned to take treats from my hand within a week, and would sit contentedly in my palm for evening cuddles. Her cheek pouches stuffed with food are the funniest thing I've ever seen. At just 2.5 years her lifespan was heartbreakingly short, but the memories are wonderful.
