My 20-year tortoise companion

My Russian tortoise has been with me for 20 years and is reportedly only in mid-life. She bobs to the front of her enclosure when she sees me, has favourite foods (dandelions and clover), and shows distinct disapproval when her lettuce isn't fresh. Tortoises are deeply underestimated as companion animals — they have personality, preferences, and genuine character. Twenty years in and I adore her completely.
