My 18 days exploring Graz and beyond — completely worth it

I spent 18 days in Austria and based myself mainly in Graz. The city itself exceeded expectations — the Melk Abbey was genuinely jaw-dropping and I ended up visiting twice. Food was a highlight throughout; I must have eaten Tafelspitz every other day and have no regrets about it whatsoever.

What I didn't expect was stunning alpine scenery. That element really elevated the trip from good to exceptional. The locals I encountered were warm and patient with my attempts at the language. I'd encourage anyone on the fence to just book it.
