My 19 days exploring Phnom Penh and beyond — completely worth it

I spent 19 days in Cambodia and based myself mainly in Phnom Penh. The city itself exceeded expectations — the Ta Prohm temple was genuinely jaw-dropping and I ended up visiting twice. Food was a highlight throughout; I must have eaten banana flower salad every other day and have no regrets about it whatsoever.

What I didn't expect was Angkor Wat is genuinely one of humanity's greatest achievements. That element really elevated the trip from good to exceptional. The locals I encountered were warm and patient with my attempts at the language. I'd encourage anyone on the fence to just book it.
