Solo trip to Colombia: everything you need to know

Did 18 days solo in Colombia and found it extremely manageable as a solo traveller. The transport network around Cartagena is decent and getting to Cartagena Walled City independently was straightforward. Met fellow travellers easily and locals were generally happy to chat.

Cartagena is one of the Americas' most beautiful cities was a personal highlight — something I'd only found in independent travel research. One note: altitude in Bogotá. Nothing serious but worth knowing. The solo experience here was genuinely rewarding and I came home having learned a lot about a place I knew very little about.
