My 18 days exploring Olomouc and beyond — completely worth it

I spent 18 days in Czech Republic and based myself mainly in Olomouc. The city itself exceeded expectations — the Old Town Square was genuinely jaw-dropping and I ended up visiting twice. Food was a highlight throughout; I must have eaten trdelník every other day and have no regrets about it whatsoever.

What I didn't expect was affordable by Western European standards. That element really elevated the trip from good to exceptional. The locals I encountered were warm and patient with my attempts at the language. I'd encourage anyone on the fence to just book it.
