My 11 days exploring Sighnaghi and beyond — completely worth it

I spent 11 days in Georgia and based myself mainly in Sighnaghi. The city itself exceeded expectations — the Old Tbilisi was genuinely jaw-dropping and I ended up visiting twice. Food was a highlight throughout; I must have eaten chacha brandy every other day and have no regrets about it whatsoever.

What I didn't expect was dramatic Caucasus mountain scenery. That element really elevated the trip from good to exceptional. The locals I encountered were warm and patient with my attempts at the language. I'd encourage anyone on the fence to just book it.
