The food in Germany changed how I think about travel

I travel for food more than anything else, and Germany shot straight to the top of my culinary travel list. sauerkraut alone justified the flight, but that was just the beginning. The variety and quality in Hamburg is relentless — I didn't have a single disappointing meal in 9 days.

Checkpoint Charlie gave context to everything I was tasting. The history and culture feeds into the food in ways you can feel. Christmas markets completed the picture. Already planning a return trip focused entirely on eating my way through a different region.
