Solo trip to Hong Kong: everything you need to know

Did 7 days solo in Hong Kong and found it extremely manageable as a solo traveller. The transport network around Mong Kok is decent and getting to Big Buddha Lantau independently was straightforward. Met fellow travellers easily and locals were generally happy to chat.

incredible mix of Chinese and British heritage was a personal highlight — something I'd only found in independent travel research. One note: can feel overwhelming and relentless. Nothing serious but worth knowing. The solo experience here was genuinely rewarding and I came home having learned a lot about a place I knew very little about.
