Honeymoon in India — Mumbai and the countryside delivered everything

We chose India for our honeymoon and it was perfect for us. The romantic atmosphere in Mumbai at night, the drama of Varanasi ghats, the intimacy of small restaurants serving butter chicken — all of it added up to exactly what we were hoping for.

overwhelming sensory experience became an unexpected gift — something we stumbled across that felt made for the occasion. We had 21 days and used every one of them well. Some destinations disappoint when the pressure of a special occasion is on them. India didn't.
