Family holiday in Italy — kids loved it, parents survived

Took the family to Italy for 11 days and it worked better than I'd hoped. The kids were fascinated by Colosseum — more than I expected from children who usually resist sightseeing. Food was manageable: even the pickiest eater in our group found things to eat, and risotto went down well with everyone.

passionate locals kept everyone engaged and gave the trip a memorable high point. tourist trap restaurants near monuments was the main practical difficulty but nothing that ruined anything. Would absolutely return with them.
