Solo trip to Mexico: everything you need to know

Did 21 days solo in Mexico and found it extremely manageable as a solo traveller. The transport network around Guadalajara is decent and getting to Monte Albán independently was straightforward. Met fellow travellers easily and locals were generally happy to chat.

incredible ancient ruins was a personal highlight — something I'd only found in independent travel research. One note: stomach bugs for first-timers. Nothing serious but worth knowing. The solo experience here was genuinely rewarding and I came home having learned a lot about a place I knew very little about.
