My 14 days exploring Ephesus and beyond — completely worth it

I spent 14 days in Turkey and based myself mainly in Ephesus. The city itself exceeded expectations — the Hagia Sophia was genuinely jaw-dropping and I ended up visiting twice. Food was a highlight throughout; I must have eaten meze every other day and have no regrets about it whatsoever.

What I didn't expect was extraordinary historical sites. That element really elevated the trip from good to exceptional. The locals I encountered were warm and patient with my attempts at the language. I'd encourage anyone on the fence to just book it.
