My 17 days exploring Dubai and beyond — completely worth it

I spent 17 days in United Arab Emirates and based myself mainly in Dubai. The city itself exceeded expectations — the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque was genuinely jaw-dropping and I ended up visiting twice. Food was a highlight throughout; I must have eaten luqaimat every other day and have no regrets about it whatsoever.

What I didn't expect was extraordinary modern architecture. That element really elevated the trip from good to exceptional. The locals I encountered were warm and patient with my attempts at the language. I'd encourage anyone on the fence to just book it.
