Honest verdict on Lawand — good but not exceptional

Lawand here was solidly made — fragrant and warming without anything to complain about. qorma onion sauce was present and handled reasonably. But something was missing from the depth that this dish should have.

Afghan hospitality tradition demands feeding guests regardless of the host's circumstances. The an Eid celebration feast atmosphere was pleasant enough. green cardamom tea was available and a good suggestion. For a reliable version of Lawand this works. For an exceptional one, I'd keep looking. Three stars.
