Shor Nakhod for a dinner party — went down extremely well

I made Shor Nakhod for eight guests who had varying familiarity with the cuisine. Every single person asked for the recipe. The aromatic with cardamom and saffron profile was the main talking point — no one had quite experienced bolani stuffing herbs used that way before.

kabuli pallow rice is the national dish, traditionally cooked for the most important occasions. I explained the an Eid celebration feast context as I served it which helped people appreciate it fully. qymaq cream tea was what I offered alongside and it worked perfectly. Excellent dinner party dish — impressive without being inaccessible.
