Honest verdict on Shor Nakhod — good but not exceptional

Shor Nakhod here was solidly made — hearty and rice-forward without anything to complain about. bolani stuffing herbs was present and handled reasonably. But something was missing from the depth that this dish should have.

Afghan hospitality tradition demands feeding guests regardless of the host's circumstances. The a teahouse on the Silk Road route atmosphere was pleasant enough. doogh was available and a good suggestion. For a reliable version of Shor Nakhod this works. For an exceptional one, I'd keep looking. Three stars.
