I made BBQ Ribs for eight guests who had varying familiarity with the cuisine. Every single person asked for the recipe. The bold and smoky profile was the main talking point — no one had quite experienced sourdough bread used that way before.

American cuisine is a mosaic of immigrant traditions adapted over generations. I explained the a Southern BBQ joint context as I served it which helped people appreciate it fully. root beer was what I offered alongside and it worked perfectly. Excellent dinner party dish — impressive without being inaccessible.
