Dulce de Leche as comfort food — exactly what I needed

Some dishes exist to comfort and Dulce de Leche is absolutely in that category. The bold and satisfying quality works on something almost primal — you feel the warmth of it immediately. beef asado cuts does work that no substitute can replicate.

Argentina consumes more beef per capita than almost any other country. There's something about the a Buenos Aires steakhouse context that reinforces the comfort effect. Malbec alongside is the traditional way and it makes complete sense. I come back to this dish when I need something dependable and restorative.
