Finding the best Lamington in the city — a personal search

I spent three months trying every version of Lamington I could find locally. The variation in quality is extraordinary. The best version handled macadamia nut with genuine knowledge and the subtly sweet with native fruits result was noticeably superior.

Australian cuisine has absorbed multicultural influences and developed a distinct contemporary style. The winning restaurant had the right a backyard barbie feel — unpretentious and focused on the food. Coopers Pale Ale was suggested correctly. Worth the search. When Lamington is made properly it's a completely different experience.
