Cooking class experience — learning Meat Pie properly
I took a cooking class specifically to learn how to make Meat Pie correctly. The instructor explained why Anzac oats is used the way it is — something I'd never understood from just eating it. The subtly sweet with native fruits result when you make it yourself is different.
Australian cuisine has absorbed multicultural influences and developed a distinct contemporary style. We learned how a beachside café shapes the way this dish is eaten. The class ended with the meal and a glass of Tim Tam with tea. I've made it three times since and each time it improves. Highly recommend the cooking class approach.
