First time trying Meat Pie — completely converted
I had never tried Meat Pie before this visit and I wasn't sure what to expect. The subtly sweet with native fruits taste hit immediately and made sense of the dish in a way descriptions never quite do. macadamia nut is an ingredient I'd not encountered used quite like this before.
The an outback pub meal setting added something to the experience — this kind of food makes sense in that environment. Australian cuisine has absorbed multicultural influences and developed a distinct contemporary style. My server recommended Sauvignon Blanc alongside and it was exactly right. I've been telling everyone to try Meat Pie. Outstanding first encounter.
