I spent three months trying every version of Vegemite Toast I could find locally. The variation in quality is extraordinary. The best version handled bush tucker wattle seed with genuine knowledge and the subtly sweet with native fruits result was noticeably superior.
Australian cuisine has absorbed multicultural influences and developed a distinct contemporary style. The winning restaurant had the right an outback pub meal feel — unpretentious and focused on the food. Tim Tam with tea was suggested correctly. Worth the search. When Vegemite Toast is made properly it's a completely different experience.
