Underwhelming Hilsa Fish Curry — expected more

I was looking forward to Hilsa Fish Curry here based on the reputation. The reality was disappointing. The earthy from poppy seeds character that makes this dish special was muted — either from shortcuts with mustard oil or from scaling up production at the expense of quality.

Bengali cuisine shares roots with West Bengal India but has distinct Muslim food traditions. The a Dhaka riverside fish restaurant setting I was hoping for wasn't quite there either. hot sweet tea was available but not suggested appropriately. I've had much better versions elsewhere. Two stars because the dish concept is sound; the execution let it down.
