Honest verdict on Panta Bhat — good but not exceptional

Panta Bhat here was solidly made — fresh and fishy without anything to complain about. green chilli was present and handled reasonably. But something was missing from the depth that this dish should have.

hilsa fish is a cultural icon in Bangladesh — its seasonal availability is a national event. The a traditional Bengali home atmosphere was pleasant enough. jhal muri puffed rice snack was available and a good suggestion. For a reliable version of Panta Bhat this works. For an exceptional one, I'd keep looking. Three stars.
