Underwhelming Panta Bhat — expected more

I was looking forward to Panta Bhat here based on the reputation. The reality was disappointing. The pungent from mustard oil character that makes this dish special was muted — either from shortcuts with panch phoron five-spice or from scaling up production at the expense of quality.

Bengali cuisine shares roots with West Bengal India but has distinct Muslim food traditions. The a Dhaka riverside fish restaurant setting I was hoping for wasn't quite there either. aam panna green mango drink was available but not suggested appropriately. I've had much better versions elsewhere. Two stars because the dish concept is sound; the execution let it down.
