Finding the best Pitha in the city — a personal search

I spent three months trying every version of Pitha I could find locally. The variation in quality is extraordinary. The best version handled green chilli with genuine knowledge and the spicy and tangy result was noticeably superior.

hilsa fish is a cultural icon in Bangladesh — its seasonal availability is a national event. The winning restaurant had the right a Sylheti tea estate feel — unpretentious and focused on the food. lassi was suggested correctly. Worth the search. When Pitha is made properly it's a completely different experience.
