Decent Fish and Chips — nothing more, nothing less

Fish and Chips at this place was fine. The comforting and hearty flavour was there but not distinguished. HP sauce was present in the right quantities but without the care that makes the difference. You can taste when something is being made to a formula.

pub food culture has undergone a renaissance in the gastropub era. The a Sunday pub lunch setting was generic rather than immersive. dry cider was offered but not explained. If you're in the area and want Fish and Chips it'll do. If you're going out of your way, look elsewhere.
